Vietnamese social media influencer An Thy announced she has been diagnosed with leukemia. The 23-year-old influencer said she had been living irregularly for years, staying awake until morning, and consuming heavily sweetened drinks instead of water. After months of fatigue, An Thy was hospitalized and has taken a break from social media to focus on her treatment. Experts, however, noted that sugary drinks and lack of sleep are not direct causes of leukemia.
An Thy, a social media influencer from Vietnam known for her makeup transformation videos, announced that she has been diagnosed with leukemia. The 23-year-old influencer, who has over 11 million followers on TikTok, shared her health condition in an emotional video, recounting years of unhealthy lifestyle habits.
"I Drank 5 Glasses of Sugary Beverages a Day Instead of Water"
An Thy, living in Ho Chi Minh City, said that her daily routine completely fell apart after becoming a content creator. The influencer explained that she stayed awake until the first light of morning and almost never drank water.
The young influencer stated, "I thought my body was strong because I didn't smoke or drink alcohol. I stayed up until dawn and slept during the day. I almost never drank plain water." An Thy revealed that instead of water, she consumed about five glasses of sugary milk drinks, matcha latte, and various sugary beverages per day.
DIAGNOSED WITH LEUKEMIA AT THE HOSPITAL
After months of extreme fatigue, the influencer fell ill, and tests revealed a diagnosis of leukemia. Doctors at the Blood Transfusion and Hematology Hospital in Vietnam confirmed the diagnosis.
While stating that she may not be able to post regularly due to the treatment process, the influencer expressed her hope that her experiences would raise health awareness among young people.

An Thy, who also mentioned undergoing numerous cosmetic surgeries in the past, emphasized that health warning signs should not be ignored at a young age.
The influencer's post quickly went viral, with the video garnering over 24 million views. Thousands of followers shared messages of support. Meanwhile, experts stressed that irregular sleep and sugary beverage consumption are not considered direct causes of leukemia.
