The addition of Matej Jurasek, who came through the youth system of Sparta Prague's arch-rival Slavia Prague, to the squad caused great tension. Coach Brian Priske defended the 22-year-old footballer, who was protested by his own fans during the FK Teplice match, and after the match went in front of the stands and had a heated argument with the supporters.
Matej Jurasek's transfer to Sparta Prague, which began at their arch-rivals Slavia Prague and drew attention with his performance there, has turned into a crisis.
The 22-year-old Czech winger had used sarcastic and harsh statements about Sparta Prague during his time wearing the Slavia Prague jersey. Because of these words, Jurasek's transfer drew the reaction of Sparta Prague fans. Jurasek, who transferred to English club Norwich City in January 2025 but did not find the playing time he wanted there, was later loaned to Sparta Prague. The young player's transfer was met with a backlash from Sparta Prague's fan group known as the "Kotel."
PROTEST BEGAN THE MOMENT HE TOOK THE FIELD
Tensions escalated further during the league match where Sparta Prague defeated FK Teplice 4-1. Jurasek faced protests from his own fans from the moment he came out to warm up before the match. The young footballer, who entered the game in the 74th minute, was the target of whistles and protests throughout his time on the field.
HEAD COACH ARGUED WITH THE STANDS
The real tension, however, occurred after the match ended. As the team moved toward the stands to celebrate the victory, the fan group called Jurasek forward, and head coach Brian Priske stepped in. Priske went directly in front of the stands and had a heated verbal argument with the fans. The experienced coach protected his player and asked the fans to accept Jurasek.
