U.M., a First Class Security Director Police Chief Inspector, who carried out an armed attack on a school in Kahramanmaraş, killing 1 teacher and 8 students, has been taken into custody. Following the father, the mother, who was found to be a Turkish Language and Literature teacher, was also taken into custody.
New details have emerged regarding the armed attack organized at a middle school in Kahramanmaraş. In the attack that took place at Ayşer Çalık Middle School in the Onikişubat district, 9 people lost their lives while 13 people were injured.
ATTACKER IS A 14-YEAR-OLD STUDENT
According to a statement made by the Kahramanmaraş Governorate, the person who carried out the attack is a 14-year-old 8th-grade student. It was stated that the attacker came to the school with 5 guns and 7 magazines and opened fire in two classrooms. It was announced that among those who lost their lives in the attack, 1 was a teacher and 8 were students.
INJURED TAKEN TO HOSPITALS
Following the incident, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals and placed under treatment. Extensive security measures were taken at the scene, and investigations are ongoing.
DETENTION ORDER FOR HIS FATHER
According to information conveyed by A Haber reporter İhsan Yalçın, as part of the investigation, the father of the attacker student, 1st Class Police Chief Inspector U.M., was taken into custody. Following the father, the attacker's mother P.P.M. was also taken into custody. It was learned that the attacker's mother is a Turkish Language and Literature teacher at an Anatolian high school.
