In the US, Democratic Party candidate Jaime West, while sharply attacking his Republican rivals, drew attention by saying, 'We have guns too.' His demeanor in the footage led to questions about whether he was intoxicated. West will compete against Gary Keener Jr. in the election in Indiana.
In the US, Democratic Party candidate Jaime West became a trending topic with her demeanor on a live broadcast she appeared on. The politician, who gave the impression of having difficulty speaking and slurring her words, drew attention with the words “We have guns too” while using harsh statements toward her Republican rivals. Some people who watched the footage questioned whether West was intoxicated.
West, who is running for the District 4 seat on the Fayette County Council in the state of Indiana, targeted Republicans who support the MAGA movement on the television program. The candidate, who accused politicians who support Donald Trump of racism, argued that these people were not intelligent enough.
During the interview, West, who at times asked for questions to be repeated and emphasized her words by banging on the table, claimed that she herself had also been threatened by Republicans. The politician, a mother of three, claimed that she had been insulted and that the Fayette County Sheriff's nephew had threatened to kill her.
Fayette County Sheriff's Office administrator Zac Jones, responding to West's statements, used language denying the claim. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Jones stated that he has five nieces and no nephews, and said he did not understand whom West was referring to.
After the interview was shared on social media, many users expressed shock at the footage. While some criticized West's manner of speaking, others questioned whether the candidate was drunk.
In the election race in Fayette County, Jaime West will face Republican candidate Gary Keener Jr. The Sun newspaper reached out to West to get a statement on the matter.
