After the meeting with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan on December 28, the DEM Party İmralı Delegation, which decided to establish contact with political parties at Öcalan's suggestion, held its second meeting today with the Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahçeli.

FIRST COMMENT FROM ÖZEL

A striking evaluation came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding the approximately 40-minute meeting. Responding to journalists' questions, Özel stated that they would be involved in this process if it is conducted transparently. Emphasizing that no political actor should be excluded, Özel said, "We have been saying this for years. We say it should be transparent. We have painfully experienced the relationships of interest. When we were asked for an appointment regarding this process, I asked who would be met. We do not find a process conducted solely through the MHP to be correct. I hope the CHP, as an opposition actor, does not disregard other parties. It seems that a process suitable for this is being conducted today," he said.

Özel also made a statement regarding the DEM Party delegation's appointment request, saying, "We will evaluate the appointment requests after Monday. Social consensus is very important.
