The founder of SADAT (International Defense Consultancy) and former advisor to President Erdogan, Adnan Tanrıverdi, has passed away. Adnan Tanrıverdi's funeral will be held tomorrow after the afternoon prayer at Eyüpsultan Mosque and he will be buried. WHO IS ADNAN TANRIVERDI?He was born on November 8, 1944 in Akşehir district of Konya. He completed primary school, middle school, and high school in Akşehir. After middle school, he worked as a substitute teacher for a year in a primary school during the 1962-1963 academic year. In the 1963-1964 academic year, he studied at Istanbul University Faculty of Science, Department of Zoology for a year. He entered the Turkish Military Academy in 1964. In August 30, 1966, he graduated from the Turkish Military Academy as a Field Artillery Officer with honors. In 1967, he completed the Field Artillery and Missile School Officer Basic Course with second place. He served in various positions including the 23rd Infantry Brigade 8th Field Artillery Battalion (Istanbul), 10th Infantry Division Artillery Regiment (Tatvan), 58th Field Artillery Noncommissioned Officer Training Brigade Headquarters Company, and 1st Field Artillery Battalion Battery Command (Burdur). He was promoted to First Lieutenant on August 30, 1970, and to Captain on August 30, 1973. He served as a Platoon Commander in the Reserve Officer Battalion of the Field Artillery and Missile School Courses Regiment. He attended Special Evolution Courses before the Academy, Basic French Course, and Irregular Warfare Course. In 1990, he was appointed as the Commander of the 8th Corps Artillery Regiment (Malazgirt). While serving in this position, he was promoted to Brigadier General on August 30, 1992. He served as the Commander of the 2nd Armored Brigade (Kartal) for three years between 1992-1995, and as the Head of the Turkish Army Health Department between 1995-1996. He was retired due to lack of position on August 30, 1996. After retiring, he served as the General Coordinator of Üsküdar FM Radio for one year from 1997-1998. On May 30, 2004, he became a member of the Board of Directors of İhlâs Marmara Houses Mosque Construction and Aid Association. From November 28, 2004 to November 22, 2009, he served as the President of the Association for Defending Justice (ASDER). He is married, has two children, and speaks French.
