The caps opened for controlled water discharge at the Yusufeli Dam, which reached full capacity in Artvin, were captured from the air. The rainbow formed by the water released at high pressure from the dam body drew attention.
The gates of the Yusufeli Dam, built on the Çoruh River in Artvin, standing at 275 meters high, making it Turkey's tallest and one of the world's notable arch dams, were opened after the filling rate was completed.
As part of the controlled water discharge, the water released under high pressure from the opened gates was captured from the air. The dense vapor and water droplets created by the water exiting the dam body formed a rainbow under the effect of sunlight.
The aerial footage captured the moments when the water from the massive dam body mixed with the Çoruh River and the colorful images created by the rainbow. This natural scenery, which appears each year during the controlled water discharges after reaching full capacity, also drew attention this year.
It was learned that the water discharge operations at the Yusufeli Dam, which holds an important place in Turkey's energy production, are being carried out in a controlled manner. The opened gates and the resulting rainbow were captured from the air, once again showcasing the grandeur of the dam.
