In the Antakya district of Hatay, a couple in a relationship who copied the house key of a woman they worked with at the same workplace entered while the homeowner was away and stole 11 gold bracelets, 40,000 TL, and 700 dollars that had been saved to buy a house. N.N.H. and M.A.P., who sold the gold worth approximately 1.5 million TL at a jeweler, were caught after 22 hours of police security camera review.
In Hatay, a couple in a relationship who copied the key to their friend's house, where they worked at the same workplace, entered the house while the woman was not at home and stole gold and foreign currency worth approximately 1.5 million TL. The suspects, who sold at a jewelry store the gold their friends had saved to buy a house, were caught as a result of police teams examining 22 hours of security camera footage.
11 BRACELETS, 40,000 TL AND 700 DOLLARS STOLEN
The incident occurred on October 8 in the Akasya Neighborhood of Antakya district. After approximately 1.5 million TL worth of valuables—11 gold bracelets weighing about 200 grams, 40,000 TL, and 700 dollars in cash—were stolen from a house, police teams launched an investigation.
As a result of approximately 22 hours of security camera review and field research conducted by Hatay Provincial Police Department officers, 2 suspects named N.N.H. and M.A.P. were caught and taken into custody. Moments when the suspects walked down the street after stealing the gold from the house and sold it at a jewelry store were captured on security cameras.
THE THIEVES TURNED OUT TO BE CO-WORKERS
It was determined that the male and female suspects who carried out the theft were in a relationship and worked at the same workplace as the woman whose gold was stolen. It was learned that the couple, after copying the key to their friend's house they had previously visited, entered the house while the woman was away and stole the gold and foreign currency she had saved to buy a house.
Legal proceedings were initiated against the suspects.
