The General Directorate of Meteorology shared the weather forecasts for Thursday, October 17. While air temperatures are expected to drop by 6 to 12 degrees, cold and rainy weather will be effective. On the other hand, a yellow-coded warning has been issued for 13 provinces.



According to the latest forecasts made by the General Directorate of Meteorology: It is predicted that the northern and eastern parts of the country will be partly and very cloudy, while the eastern Marmara, the Black Sea, the northern part of Central Anatolia, Eastern Anatolia (except Malatya), and the northern and eastern parts of Southeastern Anatolia will experience rainfall. It is expected that the heavy rainfall, which is expected to be strong along the Black Sea coasts, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, the eastern part of Southeastern Anatolia, and around Sakarya, will generally be rain and showers, with occasional thunderstorms, while in the high areas of the inner parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the northeastern part of Eastern Anatolia, it will be in the form of mixed rain and snow.

It is predicted that air temperatures will decrease significantly (6-12°C) and fall below seasonal norms across the country. The wind is expected to blow generally from the north and east, while in the southern and eastern parts, it will be light to moderate, and in the Marmara, Black Sea, and Aegean coasts, as well as the inner parts of the Mediterranean, it will be strong from the north (40-70 km/h), and in the southeastern part of Eastern Anatolia, it will blow strongly and briefly as a storm from the south (50-80 km/h).



RAIN WARNING



Since heavy rainfall is expected in the Black Sea coasts, the eastern part of Eastern Anatolia, the eastern part of Southeastern Anatolia, and around Sakarya, it is necessary to be cautious and take precautions against adverse conditions such as floods, water accumulation, lightning, landslides, strong winds, and disruptions in transportation.
