Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen claimed to have carried out three separate attacks on Saudi Arabia and claimed that many soldiers were killed and wounded. The Yemeni army announced that in the last 24 hours it had carried out 736 attacks against the Houthis and neutralized 307 people. As tension escalates in the region with mutual attacks, the US has instructed non-essential diplomatic personnel and their families in Saudi Arabia to leave the country immediately due to security risks.

Clashes continue in Yemen between the Iran-backed Houthis and the Saudi-led coalition forces supporting the Yemeni government recognized by the international community.

Emphasizing that the Yemeni Armed Forces continue military pressure on the Houthis, al-Nazili reminded, 'In this process, the provisions of international humanitarian law are being adhered to, and all necessary measures are being taken to protect civilians and civilian elements.'

URGENT EVACUATION ORDER FROM THE US

After the attacks, the US Embassy in Riyadh took action. In an official statement from the embassy, non-essential personnel in Saudi Arabia and their families were asked to leave the country immediately due to security risks reaching their peak.

In the statement, which noted that the decision to leave the country had been in effect since last Friday, it was recorded that Iran-backed Houthis targeted civilian airports and sensitive infrastructure in their attacks against Saudi Arabia, that civilians were killed in the attacks, and that major difficulties were experienced in air travel.

SPECIAL PERMISSION PERIOD AT AIRPORTS

In the embassy statement, it was emphasized that after the latest missile and UAV attacks, US government personnel in Saudi Arabia must obtain special permission from the chief of mission to use any airport within the country.

In the statement, which announced that King Khalid Airport in Riyadh had partially resumed domestic and some international flights, while some Riyadh flights were being operated from Prince Naif Airport in Al-Qassim, it was stated that Jeddah and Dammam airports continued operations with delays and cancellations.

In the statement, the Embassy asked American citizens to exercise maximum caution at airports against possible new attacks and the risk of airspace closures, and to confirm their flight status with airlines before setting out.
