In Eskişehir, a female driver with 1.58 promille of alcohol, who fled after disobeying police orders to stop and was caught at the entrance of a closed parking lot, tried to defend herself by saying, 'I had drunk cologne.' The unlicensed driver, who insulted the officers and was determined to have been caught driving under the influence for the third time, was fined a total of 552,719 TL, and her vehicle was impounded for 60 days.
While traveling on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Street, the SUV with license plate 26 DA 979, driven by Dilek T. (38), who did not comply with the 'stop' warning of the Yunus Teams of the Public Order Branch Directorate affiliated with the Eskişehir Provincial Police Department, was taken under pursuit by police teams. The driver was caught while trying to enter a closed parking lot on Kolcu Street in the Hoşnudiye Neighborhood of Tepebaşı district.
"I HAD DRUNK COLOGNE, COULD IT BE FROM THAT?"
Driver Dilek T. and the female passenger next to her claimed that they were not driving the vehicle. During the inspection, Dilek T. brought the cologne next to her to her mouth, and her friend next to her reacted by saying, "Can cologne be drunk?" In the alcohol test conducted by traffic teams, the driver was found to have 1.58 promil alcohol and said, "I had applied cologne to my mouth, could it have come out from that?" claiming that she was not behind the wheel.
REACTED TO THE REPORTER AND THE POLICE
Learning that her car would be towed to the parking lot because she did not comply with the 'stop' warning and drove under the influence of alcohol, Dilek T. said to the police teams, "You cannot do this, you don't have such a right," and used the phrase "Moron." When the reporter who was recording the incident asked, "Why did you call the police morons?" her friend next to her replied, "Because you asked."
DRIVER'S LICENSE WAS CONFISCATED UNTIL 2034
In the examinations, it was determined that Dilek T.'s driver's license had been confiscated before for driving under the influence of alcohol and that she currently did not have a valid license. The license delivery date for the driver, who was caught driving under the influence for the third time, was extended until 2034. A total administrative fine of 552,719 TL was imposed on the driver for various charges including not complying with the 'stop' warning, driving under the influence of alcohol, and driving without a license. The car was towed to the parking lot and banned from traffic for 60 days, while the driver and her passenger were taken to the police station for processing.
