Governor Şahin, stating that 2 containers were torn apart, noted that 4 people died and 1 person was injured in the incident, and that the investigation into the incident was ongoing.
CONTAINER PARTS WERE SCATTERED AROUND
Meanwhile, the scale of the disaster became apparent during the daytime. The containers at the construction site hit by the tornado were observed in an area more than 100 meters away. Metal bunk beds in the containers where the workers were staying were also hurled into the garden of a housing complex. The toppling of a crane after the containers also revealed the severity of the tornado. The area where the workers were thrown was also at a point far from the site, while the same area also damaged the roof of a school. It was learned that 4 people from construction and site officials were detained to have their statements taken regarding the incident.
THEIR IDENTITIES HAVE BEEN DETERMINED
The identities of the workers who lost their lives in the tragic incident have been determined. It was stated that those who died in the incident were İsa Elnevvaf, Aycan Kılınç, Salah Muhammet Elnaim, and Muhammet Emin Elnaim.
SUDDENLY EVERYTHING STARTED FLYING
A young neighborhood resident who said he was at home at the time of the incident said, "I was talking on the phone when suddenly everything started flying. Our window also shattered. The crane toppled over; those there had run backward."
WE HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A ROAR
Housing complex resident Nedim Ünver described the incident with these words:
"I was at home. When I heard the sound of rain, I wanted to go out onto the balcony, but I couldn't. There was a very strange storm and noise; I have never heard such a noise in my life. It was as if a plane had come, and it was its sound. I thought about closing the shutters; it lasted maybe 5 minutes, and when I looked afterward, people had started coming and there was shouting. There was a crane, and it was gone; I understood that it had toppled over. It was almost like a place of judgment. We used to see the workers working there every day. We have never seen such a roar. Pieces had come all the way to this housing complex; there are even some on my balcony."
