Due to the heavy snowfall that occurred last week at Ilgaz Mountain, one of Turkey's most important ski resorts, the snow depth reached 80 centimeters. The snowflakes combined with the wind caused the formation of snow rollers, which are rarely observed in nature.

A rare natural phenomenon, snow rollers were seen on Ilgaz Mountain.

With an elevation of 2,587 meters, Büyük Hacet Hill on the Kastamonu-Chankırı border and Ilgaz Mountain are among Turkey's leading ski and winter tourism centers. After the effective precipitation in the region in recent weeks, the snow thickness reached approximately 80 centimeters.

RARELY SEEN NATURAL PHENOMENON

The size of the snow rollers, formed by the wind rolling the snow on the ground, can vary depending on the length of the path they travel. The snow rollers formed by the roadside on Ilgaz Mountain create a striking image.
