At a ceremony held at the Atatürk Cultural Center for Ferdi Tayfur, who passed away in a hospital in Antalya, unwanted scenes emerged despite the imam's warning: "Please honor his memory, let us fulfill our duties without causing a commotion." Due to a brief stampede, both Minister Ersoy and İmamoğlu were also at risk of being crushed.
On December 17, Ferdi Tayfur, who fell ill at his home in Marmaris, was taken to the hospital. The master artist passed away on January 2 at the hospital where he was receiving treatment in Antalya. His death brought sorrow to his fans and the art community, and the first ceremony for Ferdi Tayfur was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
THE IMAM'S WARNING WAS IN VAIN
After the prayers offered for Ferdi Tayfur, whose body was brought to the AKM stage, the coffin was taken out of the hall. Despite the imam on stage warning, "Please take care of his memory, let’s fulfill our duties without causing a disturbance," as soon as the coffin was lifted onto shoulders, the audience rushed to the stage together.
ERSOY AND İMAMOĞLU COULDN'T HELP WITH THE COFFIN
Due to the brief chaos on stage, Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu were also unable to help with the coffin.
