A striking comment came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel during a live broadcast regarding the discovery of 110,000 euros in a baklava box in the office of Manavgat Deputy Mayor Mehmet Engin Tüter. Özel stated, "I saw the footage, and it felt like boiling water was poured over my head. However, if the footage turns out to be edited, we will stand by our friend. If there is corruption, we will not stand by anyone."
In the corruption operation targeting Manavgat Municipality, 7 people were arrested, and a striking statement came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Özel, who participated in a broadcast on Halk TV, stated that they would not stand behind corruption but did not want to say anything prematurely.

CORRUPTION OPERATION AGAINST MANAVGAT MUNICIPALITY
On the other hand, the Manavgat Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Antalya launched an investigation based on allegations of bribery related to hotel renovations, construction permits, and occupancy applications of Manavgat Municipality. Within the scope of the work carried out by the Provincial Police Department, a 4-month technical and physical surveillance was conducted on the suspects.
ALLEGATION OF "800 MILLION LIRA FRAUD"
Within the scope of the ongoing work, it was claimed that bribes were requested through the Mayor Kara's nephew H.C.G., and permits were not granted without receiving bribes. Additionally, it was alleged that services or goods were procured through shell companies established via the municipal subsidiaries and sports club, that unfair benefits were obtained with fake invoices, and that the suspects transferred approximately 800 million lira to themselves in this way.
7 SUSPECTS ARRESTED
In the operation carried out against the municipality, 34 people, including Mayor Niyazi Nefi Kara and the deputy mayors, were detained. After their procedures, 7 of the suspects who were referred to the courthouse were arrested.
