The Israeli army's inhumane and unlawful attacks on the Gaza Strip continue. The Media Office of the Hamas Government, based in Gaza, announced that 5 journalists lost their lives in an airstrike carried out by Israel near the Al Avda Hospital in the Nuseyrat refugee camp in Gaza. THEY WERE FOLLOWING EVENTS AT THE HOSPITALReports in Qatari media stated that 5 journalists from the Al-Quds Today channel, who were in a vehicle marked with large red letters saying "PRESS," were following events in front of the hospital. While the Media Office condemned the murder, it called on the international community to condemn the crimes committed by Israel and to prosecute them in international courts. ISRAELI ARMY SAID "ISLAMIC JIHAD MEMBERS WERE TARGETED"The Israeli army confirmed the attack, stating that "a vehicle carrying members of Islamic Jihad was targeted." In a statement shared on X, the Israeli army mentioned, "Many steps have been taken, including the use of precision weapons, aerial observations, and additional intelligence information, to reduce the likelihood of civilian casualties before the attack." CONDOLENCE FROM CPJThe Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) also condemned Israel's attack. Meanwhile, it was reported in Qatari media that two more people lost their lives today in Israeli attacks in Rafah, located in southern Gaza. Since Hamas's cross-border attack on October 7, 2023, which it named 'Aksa Flood,' Israel has launched attacks on Gaza, killing approximately 45,400 people, mostly women and children. The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant last month against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) due to its actions in Gaza.
