In the investigation coordinated by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, an operation was conducted against a criminal organization allegedly defrauding citizens with legal issues by posing as a judge. While proceedings were initiated against five suspects, including three lawyers, a judge's robe, gold bullion, foreign currency, and a note worth 1 million euros were seized at the addresses. Four suspects were taken into custody, and it was claimed that even the wife of the organization's leader, a doctor, believed him to be a real judge.
In a coordination led by the Silivri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a notable operation was carried out by the teams of the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Branch Directorate within the scope of an investigation into the crimes of "Establishing an Organization to Commit Crimes" and "Qualified Fraud."
According to a report by Sabah, it was alleged that K.A., claimed to be the leader of the organization, introduced himself as a judge and promised individuals with legal problems that he would resolve their cases, thereby obtaining illicit gains.
OPERATION TARGETING 5 SUSPECTS, INCLUDING 3 LAWYERS
In line with the information and evidence obtained within the scope of the investigation, an operation was conducted in Istanbul, and actions were taken against a total of 5 suspects, including 3 lawyers.
It was learned that while 4 of the suspects were taken into custody, 1 suspect was already imprisoned for another crime.
JUDGE'S ROBE, GOLD BARS, AND FOREIGN CURRENCY SEIZED
During searches at the suspects' addresses, a judge's robe, 285 grams of gold bars, 6,990 euros, 8,080 dollars, a promissory note worth 1 million euros, two bank receipts, 4 mobile phones, and a USB drive were seized.
The seized materials were confiscated for examination.
ALLEGATION: "EVEN HIS WIFE THOUGHT HE WAS A REAL JUDGE"
Meanwhile, a striking allegation regarding the investigation came to light. During the gendarmerie teams' operation, apartment residents thought the so-called judge was being kidnapped and called the police. The report also claimed that even the doctor wife of K.A., alleged to be the organization leader, believed her husband was a real judge for a long time. The investigation continues from multiple angles.
