In Konya, kickboxer Mehmet Ali Demirbağ punched 72-year-old Mustafa Işıkçeviren following a traffic dispute. Işıkçeviren, who suffered a head injury and brain hemorrhage, died in the hospital. Demirbağ was arrested on charges of intentional murder. The driver of the light commercial vehicle with license plate 42 AYJ 34, Mehmet Ali Demirbağ, cursed at Fatih Işıkçeviren, who was driving the car with license plate 06 AF 1099, for not giving way and attempted to stop the vehicle at the junction. Taking advantage of the traffic congestion, Demirbağ got out of his vehicle and approached Fatih Işıkçeviren. Demirbağ began to punch Fatih Işıkçeviren through the open window. At that moment, Mustafa Işıkçeviren became a target of the punches and collapsed to the ground due to the impact of the blows. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene following a report. It was determined that Mustafa Işıkçeviren, who was taken to Konya City Hospital, had suffered a head injury and brain hemorrhage. After fleeing and obtaining a medical report two hours after the incident, Mehmet Ali Demirbağ was taken into custody. Following his procedures, Demirbağ was released under judicial control. Mustafa Işıkçeviren, who was receiving treatment at Konya City Hospital, passed away on September 19. ARRESTEDFollowing Işıkçeviren's death, Mehmet Ali Demirbağ was taken into custody again as part of the investigation conducted by the Konya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was learned that Demirbağ, who ranked third in the 57 kg category of the Youth Full Contact at the 2021 Turkey Open Kickboxing European Cup, was arrested this time for intentional murder.
