In the İzmir district of Kocaeli, in a fight that started because of a cow entering a garden, one of the parties claimed that his neighbor, a high school teacher, attacked him with a knife and brass knuckles. In a statement, the opposing party's lawyer argued that his client was the victim of the attack and that the perception created did not reflect the truth.
In the Çubuklu Bala Neighborhood of İzmit district, regarding the incident that began because cows entered the garden and turned into a knife-and-brass-knuckles fight, a statement came from the side alleged to have committed the beating and from their lawyer. The lawyer of B.K., who argued that his client was the victim of the attack, stated that the perception created did not reflect the truth.
ALLEGATION OF “BRASS-KNUCKLES ATTACK” AGAINST HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER
In the incident that occurred last Saturday evening in Çubuklu Bala Neighborhood, while Temel Kadayıf and his son Bahtiyar Kadayıf were installing a water meter box in front of their house, an argument arose when the cows belonging to their neighbor F.K. entered the garden. As the argument grew, it was alleged that 30-year-old high school teacher B.K. struck his elderly neighbor F.K. repeatedly with brass knuckles he had put on his hand, injuring him.
HIS LAWYER DENIED IT
In the ensuing brawl, B.K. was injured with a knife, while his mother and father were beaten. After the incident, B.K. was taken to Kocaeli University Research and Application Hospital and placed under treatment; his lawyer said, “My client definitely did not use brass knuckles.” On the other hand, in his statement at the police station, B.K. said, “He came at me with a knife; my mother shielded me.”
B.K.'s lawyer made the following statements in his statement:
“My client definitely did not use brass knuckles. The perception created by the news headline is contrary to the truth. We do not accept this publishing approach that conceals the beginning and development of the incident and portrays the real victim of the attack as the attacker. The incident began after a warning was made about the removal of the cows belonging to F.K. F.K. attacked my client with a knife, while N.K. and A.K. attacked him with pieces of wood. Video recordings clearly show that my client was attacked with a knife and sticks. My client defended himself against the attack directed at him.”
“HE CAME AT ME WITH A KNIFE, MY MOTHER SHIELDED ME”
High school teacher B.K., who was injured with a knife, described the incident in his statement as follows:
“I told F.K. to remove the animals from our land. Thereupon, he came at me with a knife and began swinging it. My mother, Ü.K., shielded me so the knife would not reach me. F.K. pushed my mother and knocked her to the ground. He also attacked my father and punched him. Then, swinging the knife, he first struck my stomach, then my left arm and my face. A.K. and N.K. also came and attacked with punches and a stick. I punched F.K. in order to defend myself. I also voluntarily handed over the brass knuckles found in my vehicle to the police. I am filing a complaint against these persons.”
“THEY LAID MY SON ON THE GROUND AND STABBED HIM”
Father T.B. used the following statements in his testimony:
“When my son told him to remove the animals, F.K. pulled out a knife and attacked. My wife tried to intervene, but he pushed her aside and knocked her to the ground. Then N.K. and A.K. also came. The three of them together laid my son on the ground and began beating him. F.K. stabbed my son in the abdominal area, under the arm, and in the arm. Our neighbor Mr. R. came and separated the fight. As I turned around, F.K. turned back and punched the left side of my face. I am filing a complaint against the persons who cursed at us and stabbed my son.”
“I AM A HEART PATIENT, HE THREW ME TO THE GROUND TOO”
Mother Ü.K., stating in her statement that she was beaten while trying to separate the fight, said, “The cow of my brother F.K. entered our garden. When my son warned him, F. pulled out a knife and attacked. I tried to intervene, but he pushed me aside and knocked me to the ground. Then the other persons also came and laid my son on the ground and stabbed him. I also obtained a medical report because I was beaten, and I am filing a complaint.”
