A 72-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease, who had been missing for two days in Bolu, was found dead in a wooded area. The cause of death is believed to be hypothermia.
Seventy-two-year-old Saime Ayer, who lives in the village of Akçaşar in the Gerede district of Bolu, has been missing since the evening of January 22. Concerned relatives reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, filing a missing person report.
FOUND DEAD IN A WOODED AREA
Upon the report, AFAD and gendarmerie teams, along with accredited association search and rescue personnel, were dispatched to the area. After two days of searching, the teams found Saime Ayer's lifeless body in a wooded area, 2 kilometers away from the village.
DEATH IS BELIEVED TO BE DUE TO HYPOTHERMIA
There is a suspicion that Ayer's cause of death is hypothermia. The exact cause of death of the elderly woman will be determined by the examination of the public prosecutor and the results of the autopsy.
