After being beaten by bystanders, the man left the beach wearing swim trunks. This incident followed similar occurrences at a luxury beach town 100 km east of Rio de Janeiro and at Arpoador beach.
An disturbing incident occurred on Sunday at Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A naked man engaging in obscene behavior among the waves on the crowded beach was beaten by those around him.
In footage recorded by a witness, the naked man is seen with his back to the beach, while a woman is heard shouting at him. An angry beachgoer entered the water, grabbed the man by the throat, pushed him to the ground, and punched him. Then another beachgoer came and asked the man to leave the beach.
A large group of men surrounded him and attacked him with slaps, punches, and kicks. The assaulted man later left the beach wearing swim trunks.
This incident occurred after a mass sexual act that took place last week in a luxury coastal town 100 km east of Rio de Janeiro. A similar incident had also occurred on New Year's Eve at Arpoador beach in Rio, lasting until dawn.
According to Article 233 of the Brazilian Penal Code, obscene behavior in public places is prohibited. Those who commit this offense may face fines or imprisonment from 3 months to 1 year.
