The massive aircraft carrier of the United States equipped with F-35 and F-18s has reached the Middle East.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier has arrived in the Middle East.

In a statement from CENTCOM, it was stated that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, equipped with F-35C and F/A-18 Block 3 fighter jets, has entered the responsibility area of the US Central Command (USCENTCOM). The statement also mentioned that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier task group was accompanied by Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 21 and Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 9.

The Pentagon announced earlier this month that the US would deploy additional military assets to the Middle East ahead of a possible Iranian retaliation against Israel.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier task group, equipped with F-35C fighter jets, to expedite its transition to the responsibility area of the Central Command, in addition to the ongoing missions provided by the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier task group. Austin also stated that the USS Georgia submarine was sent to the region belonging to the US Central Command.
