Footage has emerged of the moment fugitive suspect Umut Altaş, who was the subject of a red notice in the Gülistan Doku case, was detained by security forces in the USA. On the other hand, in an interview with the Akşam newspaper, Altaş stated that Mustafa Türkay Sonel, the son of former Tunceli Governor Tuncay Sonel, confessed the murder to him personally at the governor's residence, saying, "I was naive back then. Türkay also left me a note indicating that he committed this murder. At the residence, he told me, 'She was screaming a lot, so I shot her.' I even touched the murder weapon while in the vehicle. I want this incident to be resolved now."
Expressing his guesses, Altaş said, "I think he killed her at the viaduct, then called his bodyguard Şükrü. They took the body away in a 'Santa Fe' brand vehicle. That bodyguard was doing everything for him; he was the governor's bodyguard. He was the kind of person who would bury a body; he has the face of a serial killer."
Stating that he does not know the exact location of the body, Altaş indicated that the garbage dump area next to the water treatment facility near the university, Aktuluk District, Bayraktepe area, should be examined.
