The approximately 1.5-kilometer natural walking path formed by wave movements and sand accumulation in Lake Eğirdir, Isparta, has become the new focus of regional tourism. The white sand strip surrounded by water on both sides offers a unique landscape and photo opportunity for domestic and foreign tourists.

A natural walking path has emerged on the shore of Lake Eğirdir, extending towards the island, due to sediment accumulation.

The thin white strip that appears in the shallow parts of the lake and is surrounded by water on both sides caught the attention of the local people.

ATTRACTS GREAT INTEREST FROM TOURISTS

This line, which occasionally offers a visual feast of water birds along the way, attracts interest from domestic and foreign tourists. Especially those who visit the area in the morning and evening hours walk in the shallow waters and take photographs.

This natural formation in Lake Eğirdir contributes to the region's tourism potential while standing out as a remarkable example reflecting the lake's coastal dynamics.

While road transportation to the island continues, this natural walking path formed along the shore also offers visitors an alternative route.

"IT'S A FORMATION OF APPROXIMATELY 1.5 KILOMETERS"

Aquatic Products Senior Engineer Vedat Yeğen told journalists that the shores of Lake Eğirdir have different habitat characteristics.

Stating that the shores of Lake Eğirdir contain different structures such as sandy, rocky, and stony areas, Yeğen said, "The island area predominantly has a sandy structure. The elevated ridge formed here occurred as a result of wave movements transporting the sands in the lake towards the shore. It's a formation of approximately 1.5 kilometers."

"AT LEAST FOR NOW, WE NEED TO ENJOY IT"

Drawing attention to the fact that the natural formation may not be permanent, Yeğen explained that a rise in the lake level could submerge this natural walking path again.

Noting that the path can be utilized for tourism for now, Yeğen used the expression, "At least for now, we need to enjoy it, because in the future, with the rise of the lake waters, this path may disappear."
