The Ministry of Trade announced its decision for barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons through its official social media account. According to the decision, starting from July 1st, the salons will be closed for one day a week. The open businesses will be determined by the governorships.
"The demands of the sector stakeholders have been evaluated," said the written statement from the Ministry of Trade, adding that the request and suggestions conveyed to the Ministry by the sector stakeholders were carefully evaluated, and a decision was made on August 18, 2022, for all barbers, hairdressers, and beauty salons to be closed for one day a week nationwide.
The day to be closed will be determined according to the consumer preferences of each province, taking into account the sectoral structure and business profile of each province, as well as consumer preferences and needs. It was stated that studies were carried out with the broad participation of the sector for this purpose, and these studies have been completed.
In the statement, it was mentioned that administrative sanctions will be imposed by our Ministry if it is determined that these businesses are not closed on the days determined by the governorships.
