The first hearing of the trial involving 47 defendants accused of causing the deaths of numerous babies in Istanbul is ongoing on its fifth day. Gıyasettin Mert Özdemir, an ambulance driver referred to as the organization leader, was the first to present his defense today. Özdemir stated, "I admit that I made money by directing patients. During the time I was operating with Fırat Sarı, I also had agreements with other hospitals. I received payments in installments, around 45,000 to 60,000 lira, and I referred patients."
