Following the hotel fire in Bolu Kartalkaya that claimed the lives of 78 people, the investigation has been expanded. In an operation targeting the hotel owned by the hotel owner in the town of Karacasu, 11 suspects were detained, and 6 of them have been arrested. Thus, the number of detainees in the investigation has risen to 15.
After the fire disaster at the Grand Kartal Hotel, which became the grave of 78 people, an expanded investigation was launched, and an operation was also carried out at the hotel owner Halit Ergül's Gazelle Resort in the Karacasu district. Among the 11 suspects detained during the operation, 6 were arrested and sent to prison, bringing the total number of arrests in the investigation to 15.
FLAMES GREW RAPIDLY
A fire broke out at the Grand Kartal Hotel, one of the 5 hotels located at an altitude of 2,200 meters on the summit of the Köroğlu Mountains, 38 kilometers from the city center, in the early hours of January 21. In the restaurant section located on the 4th floor according to the back entrance and minus 1 according to the main entrance, the flames grew rapidly.
NINE PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE HOTEL OWNER, WERE ARRESTED
Upon a notification made to the 112 Emergency Call Center at 03:21, teams were dispatched to the area. The flames were extinguished after 11 hours of work, and 78 people lost their lives in the fire. In the investigation related to the fire, 9 suspects, including the hotel owner, were arrested by the court after their procedures at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command.
AN OPERATION AT GAZELLE RESORT AS WELL
Following the expansion of the investigation, an operation was also carried out at the Gazelle Resort Hotel owned by the hotel owner in the Karacasu district of Bolu. During the operation, 11 suspects were detained.
THE NUMBER OF ARRESTED INCREASED TO 15
Among the suspects, including the general manager of the hotel, they were sent to the courthouse yesterday after their procedures. After the prosecutors' interrogations, 6 of the suspects were arrested while 5 were released under judicial control. Thus, the number of detainees in the investigation increased to 15.
