The Bihar Police claimed that one of the attackers was a doctor and also served as the manager of the RBS Health Center in Gangapur, located within the boundaries of the Musrighararari police station in the Samastipur region. It was reported that while the nurse was finishing her work at the hospital, Dr. Sanjay Kumar and two assistants attempted to rape her under the influence of alcohol. The nurse managed to escape from the attackers by cutting the doctor's genitals with a razor blade. Deputy Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar Pandey said that a team was sent to the hospital and after ensuring the safety of the nurse, three individuals were arrested. Besides Dr. Kumar, the other two suspects were identified as Awadhesh Kumar and Sunil Kumar Gupta. Deputy Police Commissioner Kumar stated that the attackers disconnected the security cameras and locked the hospital from the inside before attempting to sexually assault the nurse. "The composure and courage shown by the victim are commendable," he said. During the initial investigation at the scene, the police seized the razor blade used by the nurse, blood-stained clothes, a liquor bottle, and three cell phones. The police alleged that the three men had consumed alcohol before the incident and would also be charged under the alcohol prohibition laws due to Bihar being declared a dry state.
