79-year-old Mustafa Akbıyık, who said he could not drink water for 34 years in Ankara, stated that after starting to drink water again, he now cannot eat. Akbıyık, who stated that he has not been able to consume solid food for about 10 days, said that the health problem he is experiencing is gradually worsening.
79-year-old Mustafa Akbıyık, living in Ankara, stated that after being poisoned by carbon monoxide gas leaking from a stove together with his wife in 1992, he could not drink water and could only consume tea and soda for years. It was learned that Akbıyık, who continued his search for treatment, has recently started drinking water again. Akbıyık said that while he was busy with painting work, he suddenly felt a desire to drink water and has since been able to drink up to 2 liters of water per day.
HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO EAT SOLID FOOD FOR 10 DAYS
Akbıyık, stating that after starting to drink water, he began to be unable to eat food, said he hasn't been able to consume any solid food for about 10 days. Akbıyık, noting that his weight dropped from 46 kg to 39 kg in the last 4 months, expressed that his health problem has negatively affected his life. Akbıyık added that he hopes to determine the cause of his condition and be able to eat healthily again.
"I FEEL LIKE VOMITING"
Akbıyık, stating that he hasn't been able to eat for 10 days and that this situation seriously affects his life, said, "Thanks to God, I overcame not being able to drink water. I hadn't drunk water for 34 years. While painting an apartment, I wanted water so badly that I drank it, then drank again. The next day I drank again. After that, I struggled to eat. I can't eat. I feel like vomiting. I haven't eaten for 10 days. I am nourished by formula. Formula is also very expensive. I went to Yenimahalle State Hospital and Sincan Research Hospital. The doctors don't tell me anything. They gave me medicine. They said 'Use these, then you can eat.' I can't eat. I haven't put a single bite in my mouth today."
