MOBBING ALLEGATIONS UNDER REVIEW

The Ağrı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched a multi-faceted review of the case following allegations of "mobbing, injustice, and being driven to suicide" reflected on social media. As part of the ongoing investigation, the prosecutor's office detained school principal Melahat İ. and took her statement. In her statement, the principal denied any mobbing or pressure and stated she had no connection to the death. She was released after giving her statement.

INDICTMENT ISSUED OVER BUS ARGUMENT

One notable detail in the case file was a previous incident between Koparan and the school principal. It emerged that a legal process was initiated regarding an argument between the principal and teacher Koparan on a bus on April 17, and an indictment was issued four days before the death, on June 3.

"SHE ATTACKED ME"

School principal Melahat İ. stated that in this incident, teacher Irmak Ayşe insulted her and physically attacked her with her hands, and noted that the legal process regarding the incident was ongoing.

It was reported that at the beginning of the school year, teacher Irmak Ayşe was assigned from Soğanlıtepe Primary School in Hamur district to Karakazan Primary School due to a reason, but her assignment was revoked mid-year and she returned to her former school. In her statement, School Principal Melahat İ. said she had no authority regarding teacher Irmak Ayşe's relocation, that this authority rested with the district directorate of national education, and that she had no involvement in this matter.

RELOCATION REQUEST UNDER INVESTIGATION

The prosecutor's office stated that Koparan's administrative applications and complaints regarding the change of her school are being investigated as part of the inquiry by the district and provincial directorates of national education. The case file noted that Koparan had no direct legal application regarding abuse of office or any other official misconduct.

BOYFRIEND ALSO QUESTIONED

In the investigation, an examination of Koparan's phone revealed that she had been messaging with her boyfriend Berat A. before her death and was experiencing emotional intensity. Berat A. was also questioned as part of the "incitement to suicide" allegation, but he was released after it was stated that he had no connection to Koparan's death.

SHE WAS UNDER PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT

During her visit on December 1, 2025, she was diagnosed with "poisoning" due to taking an excessive number of her sleeping pills, but it was stated that there was no legal process related to this incident.

SHE ALSO HAD A LEGAL DISPUTE WITH NEIGHBOR

It was learned that on October 15, 2025, due to an alleged incident with her neighbor Cansu B. in the apartment she was staying in, complaints were filed against teacher Irmak Ayşe Koparan and the neighbor reciprocally, on charges of "insult" and "disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals."

While statements from the parties were taken as part of the investigation, it was stated that no concrete evidence supporting the allegations was found in the case file. Therefore, the prosecutor's office issued a decision of non-prosecution.

INVESTIGATIONS CONTINUE ON MULTIPLE FRONTS

It was learned that efforts to identify suspects regarding the crime of "incitement to suicide" are ongoing within the scope of the investigation, but no concrete incident narrative constituting the elements of this crime has been found at this stage. Witness statements revealed that Koparan shared with her circle of friends that she believed she was being punished through an administrative reassignment during her process with the school principal. It was reported that the investigation continues in line with administrative applications and witness testimonies.

"NO EVIDENCE FOUND MAKING DEATH SUSPICIOUS"

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, while writing to the relevant Directorates of National Education regarding allegations that the young teacher's administrative applications were not addressed, stated that further action could be taken against public officials based on the response received.
