A person who identifies themselves on social media as "Sina Osmanoğlu" and claims to be a descendant of the Ottoman dynasty received a strong statement from Abdülhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu, a descendant of Sultan Abdulhamid II. Osmanoğlu stated that the claims are completely false and published a striking statement on his social media account.
Abdulhamid Kayıhan Osmanoğlu stated that the real name of the person in question is Ahmet Memecan and emphasized that he has no relation to the dynasty. In his post, Osmanoğlu used the following expressions: "This person has no connection whatsoever with our family. This individual, whose real name is Ahmet Memecan and who roams around with a fabricated nickname like 'Sina Osmanoğlu', is neither a member of the Ottoman dynasty nor has any relation to our family."

Osmanoğlu continued his criticisms in a harsh tone, stating that the use of the Ottoman name with fake titles is unacceptable: "The attempt to exploit the name of the Ottoman for a false legitimacy and to create an agenda is merely a sign of cheap show interest and character weakness." He also criticized some circles for producing statements about the Osmanoğlu family through this person, expressing that it is a "pitiful enthusiasm."

In the continuation of the statement, Osmanoğlu emphasized that the Ottoman name and the dynasty's tradition cannot be tarnished with fake titles on social media, stating: "History, lineage, dignity, and dynasty cannot be tarnished with fake titles, fabricated identities, or social media tricks. The name of the Ottoman, its past, and its dignity are too great to be the material for three-cent social media shows."
