A comprehensive drill was conducted in the emergency department of Serik State Hospital in Antalya. In this realistic exercise, patients and their relatives, who were played by skilled actors, became so immersed in their roles that security personnel faced challenging moments. In fact, some relatives even fainted.
A comprehensive drill was conducted in the emergency service unit of Serik State Hospital in Antalya's Serik district.
THE BABY OF THE DISTRESSED MOTHER WAS KIDNAPPED
The realistic drill began with a scenario where a mother, whose baby was distressed in the emergency observation room, was talking on the phone when her ex-husband kidnapped the baby, and the security personnel quickly intervened to return the baby to its mother.
WHEN PATIENT RELATIVES GOT INTO THEIR ROLES, THE SITUATION GOT CHAOTIC
In the continuation of the drill, the preparation process of the health teams was simulated following a traffic accident report involving 40 people arriving at the emergency room. The interventions made to the injured brought to the hospital by ambulances, the arguments between health personnel and the relatives of the injured wanting to reach their patients, and the interventions of the security teams were demonstrated practically as part of the drill.
Another scenario involved an emergency intervention for a pregnant woman who was injured in the accident and transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

The program concluded with a briefing and evaluation statement regarding the accident that was the subject of the drill by the Chief Physician of the hospital, Serkan Kurt. In a statement to the press about the drill, Chief Physician Serkan Kurt emphasized the importance of drills, saying: "Drills like this one are extremely productive for both our staff and us administrators. We always see the benefits of such drills. Indeed, we witnessed once again how equipped and sufficient our personnel were during the mass poisoning incident that occurred recently at our hospital. Therefore, we conduct such exercises several times a year. We will continue our efforts to improve ourselves and our staff to provide better service to our community."
The drill conducted at Serik State Hospital was evaluated as a comprehensive study aimed at strengthening the coordination and intervention skills of teams in emergency situations.
