It has been reported that Anthony J. Kazmierczak, who attacked Ilhan Omar, a Democratic and Muslim member of the U.S. House of Representatives, by spraying liquid, will be tried for "assault."
The U.S. Department of Justice filed charges against Kazmierczak for spraying apple cider vinegar on Omar during an event held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 27.
WILL BE TRIED FOR ASSAULT
According to documents submitted to the federal court, Kazmierczak, who was arrested for the assault, faces charges of "assault, resisting, obstructing, and intimidating" Somali-American politician Omar.
According to a sworn statement from an official of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), it became clear that Kazmierczak used a syringe to spray apple cider vinegar and water on Democratic politician Omar.
The official stated, "After the incident, it was understood that Mr. Kazmierczak said, 'You are dividing the people of Minnesota.'" He noted that the liquid sprayed by Kazmierczak may have reached Omar's face and right eye.
On the other hand, it has emerged that Kazmierczak has a criminal record, shared a political cartoon criticizing Omar on his social media account in 2021, and frequently expressed his anger towards Democrats in recent years.

Ilhan Omar, a Democratic member of the House of Representatives of Somali descent, was attacked on January 27 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by a person who approached her and sprayed liquid while she was criticizing President Donald Trump's anti-immigrant policies.
The U.S. police announced that the 55-year-old attacker, Anthony Kazmierczak, had been detained and arrested.
Investigations revealed that the substance sprayed on Omar was apple cider vinegar.
