Burak Keleş, who insulted Atatürk and the citizens on social media, caused outrage. Following the reactions, the Istanbul police initiated an investigation. Keleş, whose location was determined, was detained by the police.

In a statement regarding the issue, the Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, said the following: "Necessary actions have been taken. The individual named Burak Keleş, who insulted the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our esteemed nation on social media, has been apprehended and detained by the Istanbul Police Department."
