AK Party Deputy Chairman Hamza Dağ criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who argued with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş at the funeral of Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi for not being able to speak. Hamza Dağ said, "Özgür Özel is obviously trying to show himself everywhere with the attitude of 'what have I become'. It is not appropriate for him to try to do this on such a day. Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi, who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank, was laid to rest in Didim district of Aydın, and the polemic between CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş overshadowed the funeral. Özel, who couldn't speak, said to Kurtulmuş, "Two words from our mouths have great value in many places. It was not right to say 'I am neutral' and do this."
