In the Doğanyol district of Malatya, a person recently released from prison took his mother hostage with a knife after she refused to let him into the house. The individual, who harmed his mother and attacked the responding teams, was neutralized by gunfire. The person died, while the injured mother was taken to the hospital for treatment.
In the Koldere neighborhood of Doğanyol district in Malatya, tense moments occurred around 20:45 on Friday, May 1. Serhat Aydın, who was reportedly released from prison a while ago, argued with his mother H.A., who refused to let him into the house. Upon a report from Istanbul, teams were dispatched to the area.
NEUTRALIZED BY GUNFIRE
When the suspect began harming his mother H.A. and then attacked the gendarmerie teams with a knife, the teams opened fire and neutralized the suspect.
SUSPECT DIES, MOTHER IN HOSPITAL
S.A., who was neutralized by gunfire, died despite all interventions at Doğanyol State Hospital, while the injured H.A. was taken to Turgut Özal Medical Center for treatment.
It was reported that a judicial investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Doğanyol District Police Department under the instructions of the Pütürge Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and an administrative investigation has also been initiated.
