A tragic accident overshadowed the traditional plateau and paragliding festival held in the Oğuzlar district of Çorum. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot crashed into the ground from a height of several meters and died in the hospital.
In a paragliding accident at the aviation festival held in the Oğuzlar district of Çorum, pilot Bayram Kurt fell from a height of approximately 30 meters and died after being taken to the hospital.
HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AT THE FESTIVAL
Bayram Kurt, a 48-year-old paragliding pilot who came to Çorum from Antalya to participate in the Oğuzlar 3rd Traditional Paragliding and Plateau Festivals, had climbed up to Tekke Mountain at an altitude of 1540 meters to fly. After completing his preparations and taking off, Kurt fell to the ground from a height of approximately 30 meters shortly after launch in an area close to the launch point, due to an undetermined reason.
HE COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE INTERVENTIONS AT THE HOSPITAL
Upon notification from those who witnessed the accident, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial medical intervention by health personnel, Bayram Kurt was taken to Oğuzlar State Hospital in critical condition but could not be saved and passed away despite all efforts of doctors. An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
