The plane carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, who was traveling from Madrid to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, for the European Political Community meeting, experienced a technical malfunction. The aircraft made an emergency landing in Ankara. It has been reported that Sanchez will spend the night in Ankara.
Spain's official news agency EFE announced that the plane carrying Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, traveling from Madrid to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, for the European Political Community summit, made an emergency landing in Ankara due to a technical issue.
SANCHEZ'S PLANE MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN ANKARA
In the report based on sources from the Prime Minister's office, EFE stated that the official Airbus A310 aircraft carrying Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, en route to Armenia for the European Political Community meeting, made an emergency landing in Ankara due to a technical problem.
WILL SPEND THE NIGHT IN ANKARA
It was noted that the technical issue was not serious but protocol was followed, and it was shared that Sanchez would spend the night in Ankara and travel to Yerevan early in the morning.
COULD NOT GO TO UKRAINE EITHER
Sanchez had also been unable to attend a meeting regarding Ukraine in Paris on September 4, 2025, due to a plane malfunction. The Falcon aircraft carrying the Spanish Prime Minister had turned back to Madrid in mid-air because of a technical failure, and Sanchez was able to participate in that meeting via an online connection.
