During a session in the European Parliament (EP), Polish MEP Grzegorz Braun criticized the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas for being "ineffective" in the process that began with the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, while Committee Chairman David McAllister accused Braun of "anti-Semitism."
The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, participated in a session of the European Parliament's (EP) Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) where Polish Member of Parliament Grzegorz Braun took the floor to comment on the attacks by the USA and Israel on Iran and Iran's retaliations.
"EVERYTHING YOU DO HERE IS TO SILENCE ME AND THE WHOLE WORLD, ALL OF EUROPE" Braun addressed Kallas, saying, "You just gave a great presentation on how unnecessary and useless your position is. With all due respect, the situation is clear when we look at the last war."
The Polish MP continued: "Where is the weapon? The US Navy and Air Force. Who is the perpetrator? Who is the aggressor? The Jews, Israel, and the Jewish diaspora around the world. And you, Madam, are just the silencer, the silencer at the end of the gun barrel. Everything you do here is to silence me and the whole world, all of Europe."
Grzegorz Braun COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN'S OUTBURST: "I COMPLETELY REJECT YOUR ANTI-SEMITIC STATEMENTS" Committee Chairman David McAllister interrupted Braun, stating that the MP "always tries to attract attention." McAllister also addressed Braun, saying, "On behalf of this committee, I completely reject the anti-Semitic statements you just made. You will not repeat such statements in this committee again." Upon a request for Braun to elaborate on his remarks, McAllister said, "Mr. Braun, the floor is not yours. Shut your mouth."
ACCUSING OF "TRYING TO ATTRACT ATTENTION" Following this, Braun reacted by asking, "Is there a problem if I say shut your mouth?" McAllister also expressed that he had given Braun the floor five times and that he was "tired" of the MP, stating, "If you continue to behave this way, you will be treated the same. Add this to your video and tell your voters once again that you are a great victim. You are someone trying to attract attention."
David McAllister HAD BEEN BANNED FROM PARTICIPATING IN EP SESSIONS BEFORE Polish MP Braun had also said during a one-minute moment of silence for Holocaust victims at a session held in the EP General Assembly in Brussels in January 2025, "Let us also pray for the Jewish genocide victims in Gaza."
As the moment of silence was coming to an end, Braun's voice was heard again, saying, "Thank you to everyone who prays for the victims of the Jewish genocide in Gaza."
After his microphone was turned off, Braun was removed from the General Assembly by security personnel. Later, Braun announced that he had been banned from participating in sessions to be held in the EP until October 2025 due to the incident in the General Assembly.
