Director Çağan Irmak is preparing to present his new film "Adile," which focuses on the life of the unforgettable figure of Turkish cinema, Adile Naşit. Meltem Kaptan, who portrays Naşit, brings to life both the successes of the master artist under the stage lights and her emotional world behind the scenes.
The production, which focuses on the cultural characters of Turkish cinema, warm family films, and the laughter that resides in the memories of generations, also highlights the turning points in Adile Naşit's special life as much as her artistic career.
LEMON OR VINEGAR?
The film's premiere will take place this evening, featuring Meltem Kaptan, who plays Adile, and Levent Can, who portrayed Münir Özkul, reenacting the famous "Lemon or vinegar?" scene.
Before the gala screening held at Uniq Istanbul, Kaptan expressed that she would watch the film with the audience, stating, "I will take their feelings and emotions. This is one of the most important moments for me while making a film."
IT WAS AN OFFER I COULDN'T REFUSE
Kaptan mentioned that when the project first came to her, she thought it was an offer she couldn't refuse, and she shared the following:
"But I felt a great responsibility and burden. I thought I had to leave everything and work. Adile Naşit, of course, experienced very sad things. There are many things we don't know at all. In this film, our people will learn about these. On one hand, she laughed and made others laugh, but she always felt the pain as well. Because she experienced the pain of losing a child. I had to express all of this on my face. It's a beautiful and exciting thing for an actor. At the same time, it's difficult, of course..."
Kaptan noted that the collective spirit of Yeşilçam was passed on to the crew during the shoots, stating that everyone took their roles very seriously, and expressed her feelings with the words, "Adile Naşit is unique; no one can resemble her."
"I WAS TRANSPORTED TO YEŞİLÇAM"
Actress Seda Bakan stated that she portrays Müjde Ar in the film, saying, "If I had one wish in life, I would want to be transported to Yeşilçam. With this project, with this film, I have been transported to Yeşilçam just like that. I think it's a very beautiful film. The script was already very beautiful and it was a very touching story."
Bakan, who grew up watching Yeşilçam films, said, "Every time we turned on the television, those films were right in front of our eyes. But I believe that even the generations who are distant from Yeşilçam will enjoy this film and feel a sense of peace. I think it has become a film that will provide a different perspective on life. Therefore, I believe we have made a film that will attract the interest of everyone from 7 to 77."
THE SHOOTS LASTED 5 WEEKS
Actor Levent Can expressed his pride and honor in being part of such a special project, stating that he played the role of Münir Özkul in the project.
He initially felt very scared and was torn between accepting the role or not, saying, "After Çağan's encouragement and his ability to persuade me, I realized that there was no place for these fears once he explained how I should interpret the film, and I eagerly awaited the first day of shooting with great excitement. Our shoots lasted about 5 weeks. It was very enjoyable, filled with production pains, but we carried it out in a very pleasant and happy way, away from stress."
Can emphasized the extraordinary harmony of the film crew, stating, "I already know many of my fellow actors in the crew. They were friends I had worked with on various projects in the past. I think a very right cast was made."
