The war, now entering its sixth day in the Middle East, has brought back into focus the striking predictions made two years ago by Chinese historian and educator Jiang Xueqin. Jiang had suggested in his "Predictable History" lectures in 2024 that Donald Trump would be re-elected as President of the United States and that a war with Iran would break out. While these two predictions have come true, the most debated third prediction by the Chinese professor is that the war will end with the defeat of the United States.
The predictions of Chinese historian and educator Jiang Xueqin from two years ago have come back to the forefront with the recent developments in the Middle East. It has emerged that Jiang, who is referred to as the "Nostradamus of China" on social media, made striking predictions regarding U.S. politics and a potential war in the Middle East during his "Predictive History" classes in 2024. Following the recent developments, these predictions have started to spread rapidly in global discussions.
THE FIRST TWO PREDICTIONS CAME TRUE
One of Jiang's most talked-about predictions was that Donald Trump would become president of the United States again. This prediction, made while the Biden administration was still in power, came true with Trump's re-election.
Professor Jiang's second prediction was the possibility of a direct military conflict between the U.S. and Iran. Jiang suggested that the Trump administration could face the risk of conflict with Iran due to regional pressures and security concerns. The attacks initiated in collaboration with Israel on February 6 also turned this prediction into reality.
THIRD PREDICTION: "THE U.S. WILL LOSE THIS WAR"
Jiang Xueqin's currently most shared third prediction on social media is even more striking. The historian argues that a large-scale war between the U.S. and Iran could turn into a strategic trap for Washington, stating that the outcome would be a disaster for the U.S.
According to Jiang, Iran's mountainous geography and vast territories have historically posed a significant obstacle for large armies. Comparing this situation to the disastrous Sicilian Expedition in ancient Greece, Jiang claims that U.S. soldiers would not be able to succeed in such a war and could fall into a "hostage rather than soldier" position.
"3-4 MILLION SOLDIERS ARE REQUIRED"
Jiang also argues that 3 to 4 million soldiers would be needed to fully control Iran, which is far beyond the current U.S. military capacity.
ANOTHER PROPHECY
The Chinese academic also suggests that a potential war would not only have military consequences. According to Jiang, if the conflict expands, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz could bring global energy trade to a standstill.
In contrast, he claims that if China were to liquidate its U.S. bonds, a serious debt crisis could occur in the U.S. Jiang also suggests that a prolonged war could lead to economic problems and social unrest within the U.S.
WHO IS JIANG XUEQIN?
A graduate of Yale University, Jiang Xueqin is an academic working in the fields of education and history in Beijing. Jiang states that he bases his predictions not on mystical prophecies, but on game theory and the concept of "psychohistory" found in the works of author Isaac Asimov's Foundation series.
Jiang narrates geopolitical scenarios for the future using historical patterns and game theory on his YouTube channel called "Predictive History."
