Turkey will export the national combat aircraft KAAN to Indonesia. It has been stated that the agreement signed for the export of 48 aircraft between the two countries is valued between 12-15 billion dollars. This agreement has been recorded as the largest single export success in the history of the Republic of Turkey.
Turkey will export KAAN aircraft to Indonesia. The announcement was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Erdoğan stated that an agreement has been signed for the purchase of 48 KAAN aircraft between the two countries. Erdoğan provided the information that "Indonesia's local capabilities will also be utilized in the production of KAAN."
"I HOPE IT WILL BE BENEFICIAL"
Expressing that he hopes this agreement, which showcases the progress and achievements of our domestic and national defense industry, will be beneficial for Turkey and Indonesia, Erdoğan extended his thanks to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Congratulating those who contributed to the production of KAAN, especially the Presidency of Defense Industries and Turkish Aerospace Industries, President Erdoğan stated, "I wish continued success to all our companies that we have provided all kinds of support to strengthen our defense industry and will continue to support with determination, and I express my gratitude to all my brothers working in the defense industry."
"A PACKAGE WORTH 12-15 BILLION DOLLARS"
TUSAŞ General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu stated regarding the export of KAAN to Indonesia, "This success is Turkey's success. We plan to sell 48 KAANs to Indonesia. The first delivery will be in the 2030s. Deliveries will be made with a domestic engine. It has a value between 12-15 billion dollars."
THE LARGEST EXPORT IN A SINGLE ITEM
The total value of this contract is higher than 12-15 billion dollars. This agreement has been recorded as the largest export success achieved in a single item in the history of the Republic of Turkey.
Although the KAAN fighter jet will have its first flight in 2024, it has already attracted great interest internationally. This export agreement with Indonesia demonstrates confidence in Turkey's capacity to develop 5th generation fighter jets.
