The results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (2025-YKS), organized by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) on June 21-22, have been announced.

Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) Presidency announced the results of the Higher Education Institutions Exam (2025-YKS) held on June 21-22.
ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy made a written statement regarding the 2025-YKS results.
Ersoy stated that the exciting wait that began after the completion of the YKS has come to an end as of today, and that the results of the YKS, which more than 2.5 million candidates applied for, have been announced. He informed that candidates can access their exam results via the website "https://ykssonuc.osym.gov.tr/".
Ersoy conveyed that with the announcement of the results, the candidates who ranked have also been determined, congratulating the candidates who prepared for the exam with a period of intense study, their families who stood by them during this process, and the entire education community.
Emphasizing his belief that those who will be placed in universities will complete their education in the best way and take on beneficial roles in the country, Ersoy used the following statements:
"With the announcement of the exam results, the preference process begins. The 2025-YKS preference procedures will be carried out between July 30 and August 11. During the preference process, I advise our candidates to consider their areas of interest and abilities, to research the fields they will choose well, to read the information about the departments carefully from the guide we will publish, and to seek professional support. I wish their preferences to be beneficial from now on."
YKS Champions
Ersoy announced the candidates who ranked in the 2025 YKS as follows:
"Our first place in the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) is Ahmet Eren Özyurtseven, Nizip Science High School-Gaziantep;
Our first places in the Field Proficiency Tests (AYT) are in the quantitative field, Ahmet Eren Özyurtseven, Nizip Science High School-Gaziantep, in the verbal field Muhammed İsmail Kuşat, Private Tan Science High School-Bursa, in the equal weight field, Muhammed İsmail Kuşat, Private Tan Science High School-Bursa;
Our first places in the Foreign Language Test (YDT) are in German Elif Yılmaz, Istanbul Male High School-Istanbul, in Arabic Abdulvahab Burro, Tofaş Science High School-Bursa, in French Arda Eren Kartal, Galatasaray University Galatasaray High School-Istanbul, in English Mehmet Sarak, Private İzmir Bahçeşehir College 50th Year Science and Technology High School-İzmir, in Russian Ediz Doğan Karakoç, Haydarpaşa High School-Istanbul."
Congratulating the candidates who ranked, Ersoy emphasized that they trust the youth and that they will make Turkey much stronger.
"The participation rate of female candidates in the exam was higher than that of male candidates"
Ersoy pointed out that out of 2 million 560 thousand 649 candidates who applied for the TYT, 2 million 351 thousand 641 participated in the exam, while 209 thousand 8 candidates did not take the exam, and out of 1 million 721 thousand 57 candidates who applied for the AYT, 1 million 549 thousand 940 candidates participated in the exam, while 171 thousand 117 candidates did not take the exam.
In the YDT, it was noted that out of 215 thousand 451 candidates who applied for the exam, 156 thousand 40 participated, while 59 thousand 411 candidates did not take the exam. Ersoy continued as follows:
"Of the male candidates who applied for the TYT, 90.19% participated, of the female candidates who applied for the TYT, 93.26%, of the male candidates who applied for the AYT, 87.48%, of the female candidates who applied for the AYT, 92.12%, and of the male candidates who applied for the YDT, 66.11%, of the female candidates who applied for the YDT, 76.86% participated in the sessions. In all tests, the participation rate of female candidates was higher than that of male candidates."
No questions were canceled
Ersoy reported that a total of 680 questions were asked in the tests applied in three sessions in the 2025-YKS, and that there were no canceled questions.
Sharing the average number of correct answers for the sessions, Ersoy stated the following:
"In the TYT, the average number of correct answers for high school final year students is as follows: in the Turkish (40 questions) test, 21.707, in the social sciences (20 questions) test, 9.722, in the basic mathematics (40 questions) test, 6.648, and in the science (20 questions) test, 4.606. The average for the AYT mathematics (40 questions) test is 6.859, and the averages for the AYT science tests are as follows: in the physics (14 questions) sub-test, 2.512, in the chemistry (13 questions) sub-test, 1.846, and in the biology (13 questions) sub-test, 2.581. The averages for the AYT Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1 test are as follows: in the Turkish language and literature (24 questions) sub-test, 6.38, in history-1 (10 questions) sub-test, 2.083, in geography-1 (6 questions) sub-test, 1.313, and the averages for the AYT social sciences-2 test are as follows: in history-2 (11 questions) sub-test, 1.266, in geography-2 (11 questions) sub-test, 2.472, in the philosophy group (12 questions) sub-test, 1.709, and in the (DKAB) religious culture and moral knowledge/ethics philosophy group (6 questions) sub-test, 1.377. The averages for the YDT are as follows: in the German test, 41.484, in the Arabic test, 30.858, in the French test, 44.557, in the English test, 34.743, and in the Russian test, 51.472."
In Arabic, French, and Russian languages, female candidates stood out
Ersoy reported that in the Turkish test of the TYT, the average number of correct answers of female candidates was higher than that of male candidates, while in the basic mathematics, science, and social sciences tests, the average number of correct answers of male candidates was higher than that of female candidates.
Ersoy stated that in 8 out of the 11 sub-tests in the AYT, the average of male candidates was higher, while in 3, the average of female candidates was higher, and noted that in the YDT, female candidates had higher averages in Arabic, French, and Russian languages, while male candidates had higher averages in German and English.
