Manchester United, which is going through tough times in the Premier League, has been infested with rats at its stadium, Old Trafford. Inspectors found rodent droppings in some areas, and the stadium's hygiene rating has been lowered.
RAT DROPPINGS FOUND
According to a report by the Daily Mail, inspectors discovered rodent waste in the food kiosks and suites at Old Trafford during their checks.
After being inspected by hygiene inspectors, the 'Theatre of Dreams' was penalized with a rating of 2 stars out of a maximum of 5.
Club officials will begin implementing a series of measures to address the issue in collaboration with pest control partners and the local council.
NO FOOD HYGIENE
It was revealed that inspectors found evidence of rat activity in corporate suites at ground level and in a kiosk selling food to fans in one of the stands. Subsequently, United's food hygiene ratings were dropped from four stars to two.
The issue has been attributed to the stadium's location near a canal and a railway line. Previously, a rat had also entered the pitch during a Europa League match between Manchester United and Bodo/Glimt.
COST IS VERY HIGH
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who plans to become the club's new owner, stated that if they make changes to the stadium, the cost could reach £2 billion.
