The statement given to the police by Özlem Esmergül, the girlfriend of actor Serhat Kılıç, who was found dead at his home, has emerged. Esmergül recounted that Kılıç said he had pains due to a cervical hernia two days before his death, that he took many medications, and that he was suffering. Esmergül, who stated that Kılıç mentioned he had been dismissed from the set the same day and did not want to see anyone, said that when she could not reach him two days later, she went to his home and found the actor motionless and naked on the couch.
As the investigation into the death of actor Serhat Kılıç, who was found dead in his home in Istanbul's Kağıthane district, continues, the statement his girlfriend Özlem Esmergül gave to the police has emerged.
"SHE SAID HE TOOK A LOT OF MEDICATION, HAD PAINS, AND WAS SUFFERING" In her statement, Esmergül said, "My boyfriend Serhat Mustafa Kılıç and I have been together for about 8 years. There were occasional brief fallouts between Serhat and me. On September 3rd, around 11:00 AM, he had a film set shoot. Around 11:45 AM, I learned that Serhat hadn't gone to this set shoot. Subsequently, I called Serhat and asked why he hadn't gone to the set and told him everyone was wondering about him. Serhat told me he wasn't feeling well due to a herniated disc in his neck, that he had pain, had taken a lot of medication, but the pain persisted and he was in great agony, and he ended the call saying he would talk to his manager and provide information about why he didn't go to the set. After a while, I called him again and reproached him, saying he was being irresponsible for not going to the set. Serhat said he had a medical report and that there would be no problem, and ended the call again," she said.
"SHE SAID HE CALLED WITH A TEARFUL VOICE AND SAID HE WAS KICKED OFF THE SET" Özlem Esmergül said, "On the same day, around 4:00 PM, he called me with a tearful voice and said he was kicked off the set, that he was very sad, that no matter what he did, his pain wouldn't go away, and that he didn't want to see anyone because he was in a bad mood, and ended the call. I tried not to pressure him because he was upset and I wanted him to be alone and pull himself together. Throughout this period, I tried to support him by constantly calling and texting, but Serhat never responded to my messages or calls in any way. Thinking he wanted to be alone and that the medications he was using were making him sleepy, I tried not to call too much. Finally, today, September 5th, around 5:00 PM, when I called Serhat again, I noticed his phone was off, and because I was worried about him, I came to his home in Nurtepe Mahallesi.
"I SAW HIM SITTING NAKED WITH HIS HANDS ON HIS CHEST" Since I had a spare key to Serhat's house, when I entered the apartment directly, I saw Serhat sitting naked on a single armchair in the living room area with his hands on his chest. Then, thinking Serhat was asleep, I called out to him and shook him by his arm. Realizing from his cold skin and lack of response that something was wrong, I first called his sister Sinem Kılıç and informed her of the situation, then immediately called 112 emergency services and requested help."
"HE HAD HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, GASTRITIS, AND A CERVICAL HERNIA" Stating that the 112 teams and police teams who arrived at the scene performed the necessary checks and gave the information that Serhat had passed away, Esmergül continued her statement as follows: "As far as I know, Serhat had illnesses such as high blood pressure, gastritis, and a cervical hernia. For these illnesses, he was using two different types of medication: a green prescription pill for the cervical hernia whose name I can't remember, a blood pressure medication whose name I also can't remember, and another pill he used 7-8 times a day. As far as I know, he had no substance or alcohol addiction. Also, I don't know when or how my boyfriend Serhat Mustafa Kılıç passed away."
WHAT HAPPENED? The incident occurred on Saturday, September 5th, around 5:00 PM in Nurtepe Mahallesi. According to the information obtained, his girlfriend Özlem E., who couldn't reach actor Serhat Kılıç, came to the apartment where Kılıç lived. After knocking on the door and receiving no answer, Özlem E. entered using the key she had. Finding Kılıç motionless on the single armchair in the living room, Özlem E. asked for help. Following the report, Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams and medical teams were dispatched to the address. During the medical examination, it was determined that Kılıç had lost his life. After the investigations, Kılıç's body was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
