The incident occurred on July 25 at around 01:00 in an apartment in the Kışla neighborhood of Yüreğir district. Hamza Eren Kocamaz went to the home of Hatice Mine Kocamaz, an employee at Pozantı Municipality, who had filed for divorce due to severe incompatibility some time ago and whom he insisted on dropping the case. After covering his wife's face with a pillow, Hamza Eren Kocamaz shot her in the head with a pistol. Hatice Mine Kocamaz's lifeless body was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the crime scene investigation teams completed their work.

CAPTURED 30 MINUTES AFTER THE MURDER

Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Department launched an operation to capture Hamza Eren Kocamaz, who fled after the incident. By examining the City Security Management System (KGYS) and surrounding security cameras, the teams determined the suspect's escape route. Following the pursuit, Kocamaz was detained at the address where he was hiding approximately 30 minutes after the murder.

"THE DIVORCE CASE BECAME CONTENTIOUS"

Hatice Mine Kocamaz's brother, Yılmaz Yılgıncan, who went to the morgue to retrieve her body, said, "They had enormous debts. Due to these debts, severe incompatibility began within the family, and a divorce case was filed during this process. The divorce case became contentious, and what happened happened. He was a gambler. He killed my sister in front of my 7-year-old nephew." Hatice Mine, mother of one child, was laid to rest by her family at Buruk Cemetery.

It was revealed that on the day of the incident, Hamza Eren Kocamaz went to his estranged wife's home under the pretext of dropping off their daughter E.Y.K., who had been staying with him, and made her call out to open the door. It was stated that after entering the house, Kocamaz struggled with his wife in the living room, covered her face with a pillow, and killed her in front of their daughter's eyes. It was learned that after the murder, Kocamaz took his daughter and left her at his sister's house, then went to the address where he was hiding.

ARRESTED

During his interrogation at the police station, Kocamaz said, "I love my wife, I just wanted to talk to convince her to drop the case. I committed the murder in a moment of anger. I wish it hadn't happened, I regret it." After his procedures, Kocamaz was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court. E.Y.K. was taken into state protection by the Adana Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services.
