The statement of retired police officer Faruk Kayhan, who killed his drug-addicted son after he attacked him with a knife in Adana, has emerged. Kayhan said, "I couldn't save my son from the swamp of drugs. He also had gambling debts. He asked for money, and when I didn't give it, we argued. In a moment of anger, I instantly blacked out. I am very sorry."
A blood-curdling incident occurred on Wednesday, June 3, at Elif Su Uludağ Street in Gültepe Neighborhood, Sarıçam district of Adana. According to claims, drug addict Ahmet Kaan Kayhan (23) asked his retired police officer father Faruk Kayhan (52) for money. When Father Faruk Kayhan refused to give money, Ahmet Kaan Kayhan attacked his father with a knife he had.
KILLED HIS SON AND REPORTED HIMSELF Upon this, Faruk Kayhan opened fire on his son with his pistol. It is claimed that Faruk Kayhan, who allegedly fired until the magazine ran out of bullets, shot Ahmet Kaan Kayhan in various places, causing him to collapse to the ground.
After the incident, Faruk Kayhan called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported the situation to the police. The moment of the incident was recorded second by second on a mobile phone. Upon the report, teams dispatched to the area determined that Ahmet Kaan Kayhan had died.
WAITED BY THE BODY FOR THE POLICE Father Kayhan, who waited by his son's body until the police arrived, was taken into custody and brought to the police station. The suspect was handed over to the Homicide Bureau teams for processing.
HAD GONE MISSING IN THE FOREST LAST YEAR Meanwhile, it was learned that the deceased Ahmet Kaan Kayhan was a forest worker. It emerged that Ahmet Kaan Kayhan had gone missing last year on August 8 during firefighting efforts for a forest fire in Kozan district. Search operations were mobilized for the young worker who disappeared in the fire zone, and after approximately 10 hours of efforts, Ahmet Kaan Kayhan was found alive and taken to the hospital. Following the funeral prayer, Kayhan's body was buried in Kozan Asri Cemetery.
