Ahmet Türk, the suspended mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, lost his step-grandson Hüseyin Reber Türk, who was shot and killed during a fight with a group they argued with at an entertainment venue in Mersin. It has been reported that 6 suspects have been detained in connection with the incident. It was revealed that Türk was arrested last year as a result of an assault at another entertainment venue.
The step-grandson of Ahmet Türk, the Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was suspended from duty by the Ministry of Interior, Hüseyin Reber Türk, was killed in a gunfight between two groups in Mersin.
DISPUTE AT THE ENTERTAINMENT VENUE
The incident occurred last night at the Mersin-Adana D400 highway under the Free Zone overpass. Hüseyin Reber Türk, who is also the nephew of Mehmet Fazıl Türk, who previously served as the Mayor of Mediterranean, went to an entertainment venue with his friends. Türk and his friends had a dispute with another group at the venue for unknown reasons. After the argument, the groups left the venue.
BULLETS HIT 3 PEOPLE
A gunfight broke out when a group of 9 people confronted each other under the bridge after getting out of their cars. Türk and 2 others were injured due to bullets hitting various parts of their bodies. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification from the surrounding people. Hüseyin Reber Türk, one of the injured, died after being taken to the hospital. Türk's lifeless body was taken to the morgue for autopsy.
6 SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY
The police launched an operation to capture the suspects and detained 6 individuals involved in the incident. 2 firearms believed to have been used in the incident were also seized. The interrogation of the suspects at the police station is ongoing.
ARRESTED LAST YEAR FOR ASSAULT
It was reported that Hüseyin Reber Türk, who was killed in the armed attack, had previously been arrested for a while after assaulting S.Ö. by forcing him into a car following a dispute after drinking at an entertainment venue with his cousins H.T. and H.L.T. in Mardin on September 12 last year.
WILL BE BURIED IN MARDIN
The body of Hüseyin Reber Türk was handed over to his relatives after the autopsy. Türk's body was sent to the Derik district of Mardin for burial.
