The suicide of Dr. İlker Gönen, the second-in-command of the organization arrested in the newborn gang investigation, who cut his wrists in prison, brings to mind Cem Garipoğlu. Garipoğlu, who murdered Münevver Karabulut in 2009, committed suicide in prison in 2014, but after claims that he had escaped, his grave was exhumed for a "fethi kabir" procedure.
It is stated that the Newborn gang, which caused the deaths of baby emergency patients by transferring them to private hospitals they had previously agreed upon and profiting unfairly, had one of its detained defendants, Doctor İlker Gönen, commit suicide by cutting his wrists in prison.
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED AGAINST PRISON STAFF
Doctor İlker Gönen, one of the defendants in the newborn gang case, who was detained at the Döşemealtı YG Type Closed Penitentiary Institution in Antalya, committed suicide in his single-person cell around 16:00 today. Following Gönen's death, the prosecutor's office initiated an investigation against the prison staff.
CEM GARİPOĞLU'S NAME BECAME TRENDING
After the suicide of İlker Gönen, who was the second-in-command of the Newborn gang, the name Cem Garipoğlu quickly became trending on X. Garipoğlu, who was arrested and sent to prison after murdering Münevver Karabulut in 2009, had committed suicide in the prison where he was held in 2014.
THE GRAVE WAS OPENED FOR A FETIH PROCEDURE
Following Garipoğlu's suicide, the series of allegations raised caused concern among the public and the Karabulut family, and Garipoğlu's grave was recently opened for a fetih procedure.
