"Snow and cold warning from the Istanbul Governorship"

In a statement made on its social media account, the Istanbul Governorship announced that the temperature in Istanbul will drop starting from Tuesday, and mixed rain and snowfall may occur. The statement also indicated that cold weather and wind will continue to have an effect for a week, and precautions should be taken against snowfall and freezing conditions.

The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change's General Directorate of Meteorology has reported that air temperatures across the country are expected to drop by 6 to 12 degrees, following which the Istanbul Governorship issued a new warning.

IT WILL START TO SHOW ITS EFFECT FROM TUESDAY

In a written statement made on the Istanbul Governorship's social media account, it was noted that the air temperature in Istanbul will drop starting from Tuesday, and mixed rain and snowfall may occur.

The governorship's statement said, "The air temperature in Istanbul will noticeably decrease starting from Tuesday. According to the Meteorology, it is predicted that air temperatures will decrease from February 4, 2025, Tuesday, and will drop by 6 to 12 degrees starting from Wednesday, February 5, falling below seasonal norms across our region. The expected minimum and maximum air temperatures for the day in Istanbul starting from Tuesday are expected to be between 2/5 degrees."

The statement also included, "It is expected that the cold weather, along with strong winds blowing from the north, will continue to have an effect throughout the week starting from Tuesday. During this period, mixed rain and snowfall are predicted. Caution and preparedness should be exercised against possible snowfall, icing, and frost events."
